Due to the weather, the MANE STAGE KICK-BALL CUP has been canceled for today. We hope to find a date in the spring to recommence. If you donated money and would like a refund, please email Mr. B at email@example.com. Otherwise, the donation can remain for the future tournament.
You can now sign up to play in the Sept 29 round-robin tournament here: https://www.schoolpay.com/pay/for/WLHS-Theatre-Arts-Fundraiser/Sd4XcCj
At the site above, you can also sign up to sponsor a “Golden Can” contest, and/or donate to either the WLHS Thespian Troupe, Clackamas Woman’s Services, or both!
Who’s ready to take on West Linn’s finest in the game of all games…??!!
The Theatre Arts Department, in association with the WLPD and Clackamas Women’s Services, will host a kick-ball tournament fundraiser on one of the Rosemont Ridge athletic fields, SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 29 from 11.00am to 2.30pm. The central purpose of the tournament is to raise money and awareness for both the WLHS Theatre Department and Clackamas Women’s Services (to find out more about CWS, visit https://www.cwsor.org/). We also hope to promote and display community, teamwork, respect, kindness, and some good, clean fun – It’s the West Linn way!!!!
Details are still being finalized, but the round-robin tournament will consist of low inning games between various co-ed teams. Participating teams can be formed from the WLHS ASB, WLHS activities/clubs/other groups, and we hope to have one staff team! The West Linn Police Department will be joining forces with members of Clackamas Woman’s Services, and make a team of their own. Finally, we welcome youngsters who might be siblings or children of adult participants, to join their respective family member’s team.
To register a team, please fill out this Google Form – https://forms.gle/QdXqYhpc9xSSFQAG9
The registration fee is $5 per person. Please do not exceed 14 players per team (young children will not be counted towards that total). We also ask that your team agree on a shirt color to wear. Teams can just wear random shirts of the same color, or if you want to really go all out, Michaels have these baseball/softball type shirts in different sleeve colors – https://www.michaels.com/gildan-adult-raglan-tshirt/M10552136.html?dwvar_M10552136_color=Gray%2FRed
Steve will be in touch with each team’s captain just to confirm participation and give further details.
Besides the games themselves, there will also be some “Creative Contests” on the day. For example, there will likely be a couple garbage cans in the outfield. If a player was to kick the ball into one of the garbage cans, their team automatically wins the game! Additionally, community members will have the opportunity to sponsor/challenge someone to take on a “Creative Contest,” donating a monetary amount of $50 or more to WLHS Theatre Arts, CWS, or both, if the “contest” is fulfilled. All “Creative Contests” sponsors will be given 4 complimentary tickets towards any WLHS Theatre season production(s) of their choice. Other tournament highlights may include:
The Candy Toss
A website where people can offer donations and/or become a “Creative Contests” sponsors will be set up soon! Check back on this blog for the link.
Hope to see you on the field!!
I have been a part of casting productions at WLHS for six years. This is my seventh year, and with complete sincerity, I can say that I am overwhelmed by the talent, positivity, generosity, professionalism, discipline, and passion I have witnessed over these past few days. After reading the cast list below, some of you may endure disappointment….and that is human. But it 100% does not equate to failure. There are so many considerations we have to take into account. This is only a blip within the many meaningful and great things you will do in your lives, whether theatre related or not.
I thank you all for your courage, effort, and tenacity. You make WLHS proud.

4.30. Thank you.
The cast list will be posted at 4pm tomorrow (Friday 9/6). Get some rest! Thanks again for your patience and understanding.
Further to what I said at the end of the dance call today, I now plan on posting the cast list tonight. I want to be able to have a chat with Christine before any final decisions are made. I hope to post no later than 11.00 pm. If it’s not up by then, go to bed….and it will be posted at 4.00pm tomorrow.
Thank you for your patience, and on behalf of myself and the entire creative team, really, really wonderful work!
Today (9/4), the callback order will proceed as follows:
ROUND 1: Vocals – Female Leads
ROUND 2: Vocals – Female Ensemble (Cell Block Tango parts)
ROUND 3: Vocals – Male Leads
ROUND 4: Acting – Monologues and Scenes
Please note, ALL female auditionees will learn Cell Block Tango with Ms. P during the second round of vocal callbacks.
Thank you, thank you, all who auditioned today! And thank you for your patience. Even after the first round, deliberations were quite difficult. One of the big takeaways for us today was, not only just how many people showed up and sang, but also, the realization that we have a substantial talent pool to choose from…..and will continue to. This is awesome!
Below are two callback lists. Please read through both. People called back for specific characters, we ask that you also attend the Thursday dance call. Your name has been added to that list just for clarity. Lists and people are in no particular order.
The following people, please look over appropriate sides and songs (if applicable) for tomorrow, WEDNESDAY SEPT 4:
EMCEE (ENSEMBLE MEMBER #9)
Keith Tyler Revilla
(We do not expect a perfect Hungarian accent or perfect pronunciation!)
(These roles will be played by separate people in the show. All listed may be asked to read all characters during callbacks.)
The following people, please come to the DANCE CALL on THURSDAY, SEPT 5:
Riley J. Schreiber
Keith Tyler Revilla
Please look at previous posts for songs, sides, and other audition details.
Great work, and. . . Break Legs!!
I wanted to make sure everyone planning on auditioning knows exactly how things will proceed next week…especially those brand new to the process.
TUESDAY 9/3, Vocal Auditions, 3.30-6.00
Please have your audition form completed. Our stage management team (Ella & Miranda) will be set-up at a table right outside the box office in the PAC. You will sign in and then wait to be taken into the choir room to sing for Mr. B (Director), Ms. P (vocal director), and Mr. Egan (music director). You are then free to leave. Please visit this blog that night to see if you are on the callback list. There will be two lists – VOCAL & ACTING, and DANCE. Be sure to look at both as it is possible you might not be on the first list, but are on the second. If that was the case, for example, you would only come to the dance callback on 9/5.
For initial vocal auditions, we simply want to hear you sing and see your personality. You do not need to “act” too much.
WEDNESDAY 9/4, Callbacks, 3.30-6.00
All callback material is on the previous post. The list will specify what we would like individuals to prepare (vocal selections and/or acting sides). On Wednesday, please be prepared to stay the whole time. We will let you know when you can leave. It is also Back To School night, so, we can’t go too late. Please refrain from preparing a scene audition with a friend who is also called back. Mr. B will arrange who will perform scenes with who.
THURSDAY 9/5, Dance Call, 3.30-6.30
For the dance call, we ask that you please wear clothes you can move in, as well as appropriate shoes (sneakers or dance shoes are best). If you have them, bring tap shoes. But this is not essential. From 3.30-5.45 auditionees will be working with Maddie, our main choreographer. She will spend a good chunk of time teaching you a routine. Groups of 4-5 will then perform the routine. From 6-6.30, auditionees will learn a short tap routine from our tap choreographer, Christine.
Mr. B will post the cast list the evening of 9/5. Unfortunately, it will be posted fairly late in the evening.
