Should I say that was the strongest initial round of auditions for a Shakespeare play since I have been at WLHS? Yes, yes I should. Holy cow, what great preparation. Thank you, all! As always, if you are not on the callback list below, that does not necessarily mean you will not be cast.

THE DEN IMPROV TROUPE INITIAL MEETING IS TOMORROW, 3:30-5!!

No audition or experience necessary. Professional actor and improviser, Eric Nepom will be back to direct. Come and find out what it is all about. You do not have to commit to the improv troupe after tomorrow. If you decide to keep going, we will get everyone’s availability, and schedule 2 rehearsals a week leading up to the Improv Night performances, DEC 8 & 9 at 6:30pm (this is on the Theatre Arts calendar). The West Linn High School Performing Arts Department presents the Tony Award-winning Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical. The magical show revels in the anarchy of childhood, the power of imagination and the inspiring story of a witty little girl who dreams of a better life.

Packed with high-energy dance numbers and catchy songs, Matilda is a joyous “girl power” romp. Children and adults alike will be thrilled and delighted by the story of the special little girl with an extraordinary imagination. The production runs November 3, 5, 10, 11, 12. Due to various reasons, the winter/spring play has been changed to William Shakespeare’s, Twelfth Night.

We are so grateful for the talent, creativity, and bravery that we witnessed during this audition process; you exhibited a level of excellence that made many of our decisions very difficult.  If you weren’t cast in this production, we look forward to having you involved in the other performance opportunities we will have available at WLHS this year!

We will be meeting in the Choir Room at 3:30 on Thursday, 9/8 for a read/sing through with the entire cast.  Vocal rehearsals will begin on Monday, 9/12; a schedule for next week will be shared with you by the end of the weekend.
